The Instituto Cervantes is the official institution of the Spanish State for promoting the Spanish language and culture in the world. We provide Spanish courses for all levels, from complete beginners to advanced, with the aim of developing students' ability to understand, speak, read and write Spanish.
Our experienced native Spanish teachers are university qualified and have been trained specifically to teach Spanish as a foreign language using the most up-to-date teaching methods.
As our Gibraltarian friends know, the Instituto Cervantes had its own centre on the Rock between 2011 and 2015. Since it closed it has not maintained any activity. Now, due to the coronavirus pandemic and the lockdown period, the Cervantes has decided to offer free classes to young people who are studying “Year 12”, in state and private centres, so that they can prepare and successfully pass their future A-Level Spanish exam.
We are working in coordination with the Gibraltar Department of Education, which is part of the Ministry of Education of the Government of Gibraltar.
